Monitoring Jobs

KS / KS 5000U / KSi 5024U

Overview

After a job is submitted, use the Volcano Jobs page in EonKube to monitor its execution status, review allocated resources, access related files, and check job logs. Regular monitoring helps users confirm that the workload is progressing as expected and allows early detection of job failures or configuration issues.

Prerequisites

Before monitoring a job, verify the following:

  • The job has already been submitted.
  • The job is visible in the Volcano Jobs list.
  • You have permission to view the target job and its related resources.

Procedure

  1. Go to EonKube > HPC > Volcano Jobs
  2. Review the list of submitted jobs.
  3. Locate the target job by using the available filter or search options if needed.
  4. Check the current job status.
    Typical job states may include:
    • Queued
    • Pending
    • Running
    • Completed
    • Failed
    • Paused
  5. To review more details about the job, click the job name.
  6. On the job details page, review the available information, such as:
    • Job status
    • Resource allocation
    • Execution progress
    • Related files
    • Runtime details

Accessing Job Files

  • Open the job details page
  • Switch to the Files tab if available
  • Click Open File Explorer

Review execution logs

  • Return to the job list.
  • Click ⋮ > View Logs for the target job.
  • Review the output for progress messages, warnings, or errors.

Handling Failed Jobs

  • Review the job logs.
  • Check for common issues such as missing input files, invalid command syntax, or insufficient resource allocation.
  • Adjust the job configuration if required, and resubmit the job if necessary.
Note:

If additional inspection is required, you can also review related pod logs in Workloads > Pods, depending on platform configuration and available permissions.
